Photography of Roy Hubbard

Me

I sit beside the fire and think of all that I have seen, of meadow-flowers and butterflies in summers that have been; Of yellow leaves and gossamer in autumns that there were, with morning mist and silver sun and wind upon my hair.- J.R.R. Tolkien

I've always been drawn to natural places. Growing up in New York City, my best memories were of my family's vacations to the nearby Pocono Mountains. My brother and I were at the lake every day before the crack of dawn. There wasn't a terrible lot to do there, but we'd sit and watch the mist rise over the water and listen to the bullfrogs before the birds woke up. I believe we'd have spent all our days that way if we could have.

Now I'm looking again to my love of nature and my ability as a photographer to show me who I was and where to go from here. What I know now is that it involves a great zeal for the conservation and preservation of nature and the inexorable pull toward all the unspoilt places in the world.

I feel compelled to share my sense of urgency in protecting the world we all live in and depend on. I make my photographs using either traditional darkroom methods or a modern digital workflow. A portion of all sales will go toward worthy charitable causes. Thank you for visiting!
